The City of Tacoma, Environmental Services Department, is recruiting for the Appointive position of Solid Waste Division Manager. We are seeking a proven professional with a detailed work history in Solid Waste, who will be able to support the City's strategic goals of a safe, clean and attractive City by:
Planning, developing and maintaining solid waste infrastructure and services;
Providing leadership in environmental stewardship by meeting regulatory requirements and making use of best technologies for solid waste operations, and
Strategically managing the allocation of resources to achieve customer and community expectations.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with Bachelor's degree in engineering, public administration or a related field;
Ten (10) years' Solid Waste, Environmental or Public Works related experience;
Five (5) years' experience in supervision, people management and labor management;
Extensive experience supervising both technical and non-technical employees in a union environment;
