The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority (CCRRA) is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Ordinance Enforcement Officer [AEO]. The position is responsible for implementing, monitoring and enforcing the Centre County Municipal Waste Management Ordinance as well as all rules/regulations and policies/procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to remediation of illegal dump sites; assist with preparation of other clean up events; setup and maintain surveillance equipment; complete and maintain reports; issue citations, warnings and prosecute violators; present testimony during legal proceedings; interact with the public at events, as well as Borough and Township functions; other functions as needed.
This is a non-exempt full time position, salary commensurate with experience.

Individuals must have knowledge of applicable state and local statutes and regulations related to solid waste and recycling or readily acquire good knowledge of statutes and regulations, forward related complaints or violations not enforceable by county to appropriate local, state or federal responsible entity.
Individual must be physically able to withstand adverse environmental conditions, walking great distances, rugged terrain, heat, cold, dust, fumes, noise or wetness.
Ability to use Word, Excel, and other related computer programs.
Individual must be capable of expressing ideas clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Individual must be able to use discretion and tact when dealing with the public.
Individual must have a valid PA driver’s license and reliable transportation to reach inspection sites throughout the county.
Must obtain and maintain PA Professional Recycling Certification within two-three years.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent; law enforcement background is desirable, but not necessary.
