The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications for the regular full time Recycling Facility Leader V within Solid Waste Operations within the Operations Department. Reporting to the Manager - Solid Waste Operations, the Recycling Facility Leader V esnsures the safe, efficient operation of CVRD Recycling facilities including a transfer station and truck fleet coordination. This position coordinates the daily facilities operations, supervises and directs the work of staff, coordinates contractor servicing requirements, administers and enforces OH&S policies and related regulatory requirements to ensure the facilities operate safely and efficiently.
Hours of Work: Guaranteed 40 hours of work per week; typically 10 hour shifts. Shifts are scheduled based on operational need. The successful applicant must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes a variety of days and hours per week.

Secondary School graduation or equivalent
Supervisor Training certificate
Conflict Resolution training
Keyboarding and basic office equipment training
A minimum of five (5) years of experience with:
Dispatching drivers and maximizing route efficiencies
Directing staff in supervisory role
Working in an industrial workplace
Working with cash and other forms of payment
Administrative and office equipment
Valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with air endorsement
First Aid Level 1 with CPR
Skid steer Operator Safety Training certificate from an accredited institution
Front End Loader Operator Safety Training certificate from an accredited institution
Excavator Operator Safety Training certificate from an accredited institution
Traffic Control Person Training - employer provided
