The Sales Development Specialist has the responsibility to accomplish the Sales organization mission of developing and maintaining a profitable customer base for QED products by increasing sales of products globally within their product line.
QED Environmental Systems, a Graco Inc. company, is located in Dexter, Michigan, just west of Ann Arbor. QED is the leading manufacturer of innovative environmental products. For over 40 years QED’s expertise has included Pumping Systems, Gas Analyzers, Landfill Products, and Air Strippers.
Identify, analyze, and prioritize target product sales opportunities in North America within the assigned product line.
Develop and execute strategies for target accounts and manage customer relationship from platform specification to commercialization.
Develop working relationships with Account Managers, and understand their initiatives and market needs relevant to the primary product focus.
Travel domestically to support product sales cycles.
Provide ongoing service and support of customers as needed.
Work closely with Marketing to gather competitive product market intelligence, and help implement winning strategies.
Identify market-focused products/technologies/services needed to meet the industry needs.
Work jointly with Marketing and Engineering to execute product-specific development projects.
Must be able to work independently or with the team to bring forward innovative product ideas, process changes, and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement annual and long-term development plans to support identified business strategies and penetrate accounts.
Define channel, sales, and service needs of the customer and implement applicable strategies to see these through the QED teams.
Work with Marketing to identify and develop marketing collateral and sales tools to support sales through product channels.
Responsible for managing expenses to budget
Other duties as assigned by VP of Sales
Develop product enhancement recommendations based on market and customer feedback
Work with Engineering and Management on product development input and application requirements from a sales and user viewpoint.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent related experience
Strong Selling skills, minimum 2 years of successful industrial sales experience
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and influence all levels of an organization
Demonstrates leadership ability
Ability to facilitate many strategic projects at one time
Demonstrates skills in planning, prioritizing, problem-solving, and decision-making
Effective oral and written communication skills, along with excellent presentation skills
Strong technical aptitude toward electro/mechanical devices and products
Experience with gas detection equipment a plus
Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint or equivalent)
Willing to travel up to 30%
