Maryland Environmental Service is looking for a qualified individual to lead our Facility's Safety and Employee Training programs at our Montgomery County Materials Recycling Facility in Derwood, MD. The Montgomery MRF is an industrial facility that receives, sorts, bales and loads out approximately 75,000 tons of Fiber and Commingled Recyclable Materials received each year through Montgomery County's curbside collection program. This individual would work with both the Facility staff and our Safety Department to ensure the facility works accident free and all safety and training goals and objectives are met.
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Health, Science or Engineering coupled with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial setting and a working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 for General Industry.
OR
An Associate’s Degree in a relevant field of study with at least 5 years of experience will be considered.
OR
Graduation from high school plus 10 years of relevant experience supporting or managing safety programs in an industrial setting will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points, must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and must be able to pass a HAZMAT physical exam.
